We take care of rescue cultures and the gene pool of critically endangered plants.

In the gene pool we keep a record of 131 species that are protected by law of the Czech Republic. We specialise in the gene pool of endangered species coming from Třeboň area. Gradually, in cooperation with the Administration of the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area, we are trying to implement the local populations of endangered species into the culture as a safety measure in case these plants do not thrive in the wild in future. At the same time, they are here for students and public to have a close-up view of them, as the localities of their occurrence in nature are often closed to the public due to their protection.

Since 2016, the seeds in the collection of the endangered species have been kept frozen, so the „gene bank“ has been created.
