Optimization of utilization of biological material collections of the research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences

This project is part of the Strategy AV21, called the Diversity of Life and Health of Ecosystems (ROZE), whose coordinator is prof. Ing. Miloslav Šimek, CSc. (Biology centre CAS, v.v.i)
and principal investigators are Mgr. Václav Hönig, Ph.D.– Biology centre, Mgr. Barbora Zemanová, Ph.D. – Institute of Vertebrate Biology, Mgr. Jana Navrátilová, Ph.D. – Institute of Botany
The aim of the activity common to several research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences is to improve the biological material collections so that: 1) they are technically well-equipped and the material is well-maintained, 2) the data about the samples are widely accessible and available for further use and 3) the public awareness about the importance of the collections in relation to the top fundamental and applied research of the Czech Academy of Sciences will increase.
The following is all financed by this project – new information boards in the Collection, leaflets, Open Days, presentation of the Collection A-fest in the park and publications in magazines Botanika (Botany) and Zahrádkář (Gardener).
