The wild and remote region of W Himalayas in Ladakh is called Zanskar. The highest peaks are Nun & Kun, both reaching above 7000 m (22960 feet). On its southern and western margins there is more precipitation in comparison to the rest of Ladakh, so that some plant species occur here only. Zanskar is also home for wolves, bears and snow leopards.
