Nubra Valley belongs to E Karakorum Range with
the highest peak Saser Kangri I. (7672 m/ 25164 feet). The ridges here are sharp and ragged,
the valleys are narrow and steep and regularly end with a glacier. There are
usually alpine meadows below the glacier fronts, which serve as summer pastures
for yaks, goats and sheep.
